“The vote is precious. It is the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democratic society, and we must use it.”

-John Lewis

No matter your age, your opinion is important and it should never be disregarded. People cannot vote until they are 18, but that does not mean younger people cannot make their voice heard. Especially with younger generations, our impact is far greater than we think it is. It's time for us to use our voice to make positive change!

Youth Voter Turnout Statistics

According to the United States Census Bureau, in the 2018 Midterm "among 18- to 29-year-olds, voter turnout went from 20 percent in 2014 to 36 percent in 2018, the largest percentage point increase for any age group — a 79 percent jump" (Misra). Many young voters think that their vote will not have an impact, but this is not true! Although, if the majority of young voters believe that to be true, unfortuneatley young voters probably would not make much of a difference. But this is when that changes. As seen in 2018, younger voters account for a large percentage of voters, and that number has been increasing since then. If you go vote, and if you encourage those around you to do the same, the youth will make a change! YOU are the future, so it's time to start preparing to create the best future for everyone now. Who wouldn't want to help create a great future if they had the chance?!
