HOW TO REGISTER
Registering or pre-registering to vote is an exciting and important step! Our mission is to help anyone who is interested in doing so. Listed below are all the requirements that must be met in order to register to vote as well as pre-registering to vote. Not only will the requirements to register be listed but also where you can register.
REQUIREMENTS TO REGISTER
These requirements to register to vote will be specific to the state of California, but at the bottom of this section will be a link to find the voting registration requirements for other states.
U.S. CITIZEN & RESIDENT OF CALIFORNIA
To register to vote in California, you must be a United States citizen AND a California resident. Information for voters in the military and overseas will be linked in the button below.
18 YEARS OLD OR OLDER
You must be 18 years old or older on Election Day to register to vote in California.
NO FELONY CONVICTIONS
To register to vote in California, you can not be currently serving a state or federal prison term for the conviction of a felony. For more information on the voting rights of the incarcerated click the button linked below.
MENTALLY COMPETENT
You can not be currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court. For more information on this matter, click the button below.

WHERE TO REGISTER

VOTE.GOV
This website is an official website of the United States and another useful way to register to vote. This website includes information for all 50 states as well as United States territories. This website is the easiest to navigate out of the three listed, and it is reccommended that you use this one.

ROCK THE VOTE
If you click the Register button below it will take you to the Rock the Vote website. There you are able to register to vote, check you registration status, sign up for election reminders, learn how to vote in your state, as well as much more helpful information.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF STATES LEGISLATURES
Click the "register" button below and it will take you to the National Conference of States Legislatures website. There are links for 40 states and the District of Columbia for voter registration on the website. Please note that requirements to register may be different for each state, so read what the website says carefully.

UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE
You are able to register to vote at your local United States Postal Service Office. It is recommended you call the building ahead of time to confirm you are able to register there.
HOW TO PRE-REGISTER TO VOTE
REQUIREMENTS
These are the requirements to pre-register to vote in California. Once you pre-register you will automatically be registered to vote on your 18th birthday.
MUST BE 16 OR 17 YEARS OLD
This does not change the voting age, which is still 18, but residents of California that are 16 or 17 are able to fill out an online form and pre-register to vote.
